WHAT YOU CAN DO TO STAY HEALTHY AND INFORMED
- Whether you’re at home or moving about the community, the WHO recommends practicing good hygiene to protect yourself against infection — by washing your hands frequently with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer, maintaining distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you stay at home and rest. Let us know if you need to reschedule your appointment at your earliest convenience and we will happily accommodate you. Again, if you are having symptoms DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE.
- Should you be experiencing cough and/or fever, contact your doctor. Be sure to call your doctor BEFORE you visit his/her office if you are symptomatic.
- During this time, we will not charge you the standard $50 for cancelling within 24 hours.
- Upon entering our clinic prior to your appointment, please use hand sanitizer or wash your hands with soap and water. We also have hand sanitizer available at our check-in desks and soap and water in the bathrooms.
- Accompanying family/friends/drives are asked to wait in the car.
- You will be screened by a staff member before entering.
- Avoid touching your face. This is harder than it seems, but did you know that the average person touches their face hundreds of times per day? Limiting this will keep yourself, and others, healthy.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Do not hug or shake hands to avoid spread of any virus. Smiling faces are always a good way to greet people.
- Maintain physical spacing between you and others in the waiting room.
- Any person, employee, or patient who has visited another country or ‘hotspots’ , within the United States, or cruise in the past two weeks are asked not to visit the clinic.
- Likewise, employees or patients with a current illness or ill family member are asked not to come in.
- Make sure that you use your patient portal for communicating with our staff or to see your biopsy results.
- Now is the time to “consent” for texting our office when you are sent a request. This will allow you to reach our staff quickly for updated information via text.
- Make sure that we have your current email address. This is also a great way for us to get important information to you.
- We will continue to maintain our regular business hours unless new regulations are put in place by federal, state, or local authorities.
WHAT WE ARE DOING TO KEEP YOU HEALTHY
- We are requesting that patients on biologics not come into the office unless there is an emergency. If you are a biologics patient with a question, please use your portal to reach your provider or call/text the office at (910) 794-5355. Follow this protocol until the threat is gone.
- Over 70+, or with lung disease, or high risk/immunocompromised patients should not come in unless you are being treated for skin cancer. - We have excellent facility cleaning protocols in place including full time day staff and an evening crew assuring that our clinic and operating facility is at the highest cleanliness standards. Our staff will be wiping down the front door handles and bathrooms several times and day.
- We are suspending temporarily the use of the iPad/kiosk check in. All pens and clipboards will be wiped down after use.
- All our employees are being screened before entering the clinic area.
- We are researching possibilities for telemedicine in the future.
- We offer several ways to communicate with our staff. These include patient portals, texting and email messaging to get you the latest information.
